Paraiba Tourmaline Gold Earrings
Paraiba Tourmaline Gold Earrings
Very rare, vivid neon blue, paraiba tourmaline from Brazil. It is very rare to find this material and in this size. Each nugget is approximately 6 carats with a total weight of approximately 12 carats. This is from the artists personal gemstone collection, with these rare beauties bought more than 20 years ago.
Showcased in hand fabricated, 14kt yellow gold cages. Length is 1.75" with the paraiba stones approximately 1/2 in length.
Paraiba tourmaline is considered one of the rarest gemstones on earth, with an estimated ratio of only one mined for every 10,000 diamonds. Known for its intense "neon" blue-to-green glow caused by copper, high-quality, large (>2–3 carats) specimens—especially those from the original Brazilian mines—are exceptionally rare, often fetching five-figure prices per carat for gem quality.
